Bread is the most important thing for every Bulgarian table and there is no home in which it is not present at the table. Recently, there have been various claims about how harmful it is and why we should not perceive it as a mandatory product on our tables.

Nowadays we can find all kinds of bread - white, standard, rye, wholemeal, with bran, without flour and more. But even with so many choices, do we actually know which bread is most beneficial to us and how to buy a quality product?

According to research, white bread is the worst choice. Rye and wholemeal bread are useful. Refined wheat flour is defined as an absolute enemy of the body and is completely denied. But even whole grains need to make sure we buy quality bread that has everything it needs. Here are some rules we can follow when choosing the obligatory bread for every Bulgarian table:

1. The most valuable rule when buying bread, bagel, bread is, taking it in your hands to feel the weight of the food.

2. If the bread has a package, be sure to read what it contains, look at its expiration date, what is the weight. Do not buy bread that is made with flour type 500.

3. In case the packaging is missing, you have the right to ask what the bread contains, although in reality they will hardly be able to explain it to you, but you are not obliged to buy it if you are not convinced that it is a quality product. If you buy bread from the oven, you are more likely to know what it contains.

If you want healthy bread that is not just not denied, but even desirable to consume, buy one that contains rye, legumes and wheat. Wholemeal bread is much healthier than that made with type 500 flour and the reason lies in the fact that the sprouted grains have a significantly lower amount of starch, which makes it easily digestible by the body.

In addition, after studying the types of bread, scientists have found that eating wholemeal bread protects us from cancer. But if you are one of those who categorically state that the master of the table is white bread, then at least buy one for which you can get enough information and make sure that it is good for consumption.
