Unlike Asia, where it has been revered for a long time, here it can be found in very few places in cultivated form precisely because of the fact that we prefer native fruits such as apples, pears, peaches.

Little is known about the valuable properties of this fruit, which should no longer be considered exotic. If you still want to learn a little more about pomegranates, here's a good idea:

- The pomegranate is very rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium, calcium, magnesium and other invaluable ingredients that protect the human body from many diseases. The Arabs successfully treated pomegranate stomach ailments, headaches, and even angina, and the Chinese used it as an anti-inflammatory;

- In recent studies on the benefits of pomegranate consumption, it is clear that pomegranate is probably the fruit that contains the most antioxidants. For this reason it has been used since ancient times by the Indians for rejuvenation;

- Today pomegranate can be found in almost all parts of Front, Central and Asia Minor, and is most revered in Afghanistan;

- In Bulgaria, from time immemorial, pomegranates have been grown in the region of Petrich, Dolna and Gorna Gradeshnitsa, Sandanski and in most areas located along the Struma River. However, most Bulgarian households do not pay the necessary attention to pomegranate and its useful properties;

- Historically, the pomegranate is one of the oldest trees that have been cultivated. An image of a pomegranate has even been found in the Egyptian tomb of Tel el-Amarna, dating to about 2,500 BC.

- Pomegranate is not a very pretentious tree and in its native places can be found as a wild plant. Unfortunately, if not cultivated, its fruits are often too sour to eat;

- If you do not have a yard, you can try to grow pomegranate in a pot, as there are already varieties adapted for this purpose.
