From 6 to 9 November during the 13th edition of SIHRE in Inter Expo Center - Sofia will host national qualifications, which will broadcast the Bulgarian representative, who will represent Bulgaria at Bocuse d’Or Europe.
Created 26 years ago by renowned chef Paul Bocuse, the most prestigious competition for professional chefs in the world aims to present and promote the talent of the best chefs.
Every two years, three regional qualifications are organized - Bocuse d’Or Europe, Asia and Latin America. The national qualifications are organized for the second time in Bulgaria by the Bulgarian Association of Professional Chefs (BAPG) in partnership with Bulgarreklama Agency.
Participants in the qualifications will have to prepare two types of main course - fish (salmon) and meat (beef bon fillet). The dishes must include three garnishes, which are at the candidate's choice and must contain at least one typical Bulgarian product.
They should be prepared for two people in individual plates and for four on a tray. According to the regulation, four portions of the dishes must be served in a tasting plate for the tasting jury.
One portion will be served to be shown by the head waiter, who will cut the dish, and another portion will be used for official photos and presentation to the audience.
The national qualifications for the Bocuse d’Or Europe competition are open to all professional chefs with citizenship (confirmation passport required) who have reached at least 23 years of age in January 2015.
Each team will have an official coach who has access to the stage and the face in the kitchen to be able to train their candidate during the competition, as well as to promote the participant during interviews with the presenter. However, coaches cannot enter the kitchens and provide physical assistance to participants.
The qualifications for the prestigious competition attract a lot of interest from professionals and lovers of the culinary arts and promise to become the biggest focus of the upcoming specialized exhibition.
