It turns out that, contrary to expectations, products such as hot chocolate are harmful not so much because of the amount of sugar they contain, but because of the high salt content.
This conclusion was reached after the latest study by British experts, who found that the amount of salt in soluble hot chocolate is above the maximum by nearly 16 times, which makes this delicious drink very dangerous to human health.
In this way, scientists have refuted the theory that not only the amount of sugar should be calculated in such products. After the study, experts warn that special attention should be paid to foods such as chips, salad dressings, hot chocolate, burgers and more.
According to experts, the harm of a cup of hot chocolate is compared to a packet of chips. The salinity of a hot drink can be compared to that of seawater.
Doctors advise to limit high salt intake, as it adversely affects health, as well as the cardiovascular system, kidneys and brain.
However, some studies show that there are damage to health even with the complete exclusion of salt from the menu. To date, the world has not stopped fighting to reduce the amount of salt in a wide variety of products.
