Low-fat is called cow's milk, from which a lot of fat is extracted. It contains less than 0.5 percent fat. As a result of this extraction, the low-fat product has a slightly bluish appearance and is thinner. It also has a lower nutritional value than whole milk.

Due to these characteristics, it is recommended for children to eat whole cow's milk, as the body's needs require strong food to grow.

Things are a little different for the elderly. One of their big problems is aging. It is expressed in changes in the body at every level. Bones reduce their density and strength; teeth suffer from the loss of valuable minerals such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium; obesity becomes a problem due to the accumulation of bad cholesterol in the blood; dehydration leads to changes in the appearance of the skin, hair, and loss of strength and activity of the body.

It can play a significant role in solving this paramount problem of aging low-fat milk. It is capable to slow down the biological aging process. This conclusion was reached by experts from the American Brigham Young University.

Their experiment involved almost 6,000 adult volunteers with different preferences for cow's milk - lovers of the low-fat product; drinking only high-fat milk and another group of people who do not like cow's milk and do not consume it.

The study focused on examining telomere length in these groups. The telomere is the end of a chromosome that indicates a person's age. A link was made between this indicator and the fat content in the milk, as well as the quantities of the consumed product.

The results are very surprising to scientists. The higher the percentage of fat in milk, so the length of the telomeres is shortened. The contraction is 69 major nucleotide pairs, which is 4 years old compared to age. Or those who drink whole milk have shorter basic pairs than low-fat milk lovers. They age faster. People who do not drink milk at all have even shorter telomeres than the other two groups.

The study proves that the recommendations for Americans to use low-fat milk are correct because it is dietary. Really slows down aging.
