Homemade wine producers will compete at the end of this month. The competition will take place on January 31 / Sunday / from 14.00 in Asenovgrad.
Producers of white and red wines from the 2015 harvest can take part in the competition, and by regulation they need to be clear. They are also required to be poured into glass bottles.
It is also important to know that anyone wishing to enter the competition for the best house wine can participate only with wines that he has produced. All participants are required to indicate the variety (s) / grapes from which the drink is made.
The organizers of the event also announced that wines made from direct grape varieties cannot compete in the competition. The presence of wines that are artificially flavored is also not allowed.
The other important condition is that those wishing to participate in the competition must have at least thirty bottles of the wine with which they will compete. Samples of the wine / three bottles / must be presented no later than fifteen days before the day on which the competition will take place.
Winemakers wishing to participate in the competition can apply for participation in the Municipality of Asenovgrad, and by regulation must do so before January 15.
The best homemade wine will be awarded by a competent jury. It will include experts from the National Institute for Research and Control of Wines and Spirits-Sofia, the Executive Agency for Vine and Wine-Sofia, the University of Food Technology-Plovdiv and others.
Distinguished winemakers will also receive awards. The first place winner in the Red Wines category will grab the prize of BGN 200 and a 50-liter barrel. The prize for the second place amounts to BGN 160.
The third place winner receives the amount of BGN 120. The winner in the White Wines category receives the amount of BGN 120. Other prizes are also provided for which participants can compete.
