A giant pumpkin managed to pluck a man from Romania from his personal garden. The huge fruit vegetable weighs over a hundred kilograms and is grown by a person who is not professionally engaged in agriculture and manages plants rather for entertainment.
The proud owner of the giant pumpkin is 47-year-old Lucian from the central city of Sibiu. When the man who worked as a driver took the seeds for the plant from an acquaintance, he assumed that he would have a rich harvest, but even in his wildest dreams he did not hope for a pumpkin that would make him famous all over the world.
I took the seeds from a friend. I had heard from him before that he enjoyed satisfactory production. I also decided to plant them in the garden, although I had a dose of doubt, the man told a Romanian newspaper.
However, as the plants began to grow and bear fruit, he became convinced that his friend was telling the truth. This led to the plucking of a pumpkin weighing 105 kilograms and 82 centimeters high.
And although the yellow giant is impressive in size, it turns out that it is not the largest in the world. In October last year, a farmer from Oregon, USA, managed to stand out at the exhibition, presenting a pumpkin weighing as much as 893 kilograms.
At the same time, in 2014, a farmer from Switzerland became famous all over the world after picking a giant weighing 953.5 kilograms from his garden. He has dedicated his life to growing huge pumpkins and does not intend to stop his activities in the future.
The secret of the huge pumpkins lies in their abundant watering, as well as in the daily care for them, the Swiss reveals to all who are interested in the key to its success.
