In Sevlievo they will prepare a record long pumpkin pie for the traditional pumpkin festival in the city. The pumpkin will be 250 meters long and will be distributed to the residents and guests of Sevlievo.
Last year the Sevlievo pumpkin tree reached 235 meters, and this year it was decided to improve the record.
For the longest pumpkin in 2013, 80 kilograms of pumpkin, 55 kilograms of peel, 11 kilograms of walnuts, 25 liters of oil, 10 kilograms of sugar, 20 kilograms of powdered sugar, 100 packets of vanilla and 40 packets of cinnamon were used.
This year the traditional culinary product will be prepared after the opening of the exhibition Pumpkin Temptations, which will be presented in the central lobby of Sevlievo municipality.
The ritual cutting of the huge pumpkin, which will be a contender for the Guinness World Records, will be on October 18 in front of the municipality in the city from 10.30.
The preparation of the record pumpkin is in connection with the traditional pumpkin festival, which is being translated for the tenth time in Sevlievo. The autumn festival will start on October 16 and will close on October 19.
Especially for the holiday a competition Pumpkin is organized, the most, where the pumpkins will be evaluated in 5 different categories - the largest pumpkin, the smallest pumpkin, the most beautiful pumpkin, the most non-standard pumpkin and the longest pumpkin.
As part of the pumpkin festival, a culinary exhibition Pumpkin Temptations will be held for professionals and amateur cooks, respectively, who will compete in two different categories.
The exhibition should prepare 5 traditional dishes with pumpkin - pumpkin, another pumpkin dessert, roasted pumpkin, non-traditional pumpkin dish and carving. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
This year in Sevlievo will start the carnival procession Train of Tikvenbugr, which will be even longer, colorful and sonorous than last year. The train will depart on October 17 at 5.30 pm from Kazarmite Park.
