Raw nuts and seeds are an extremely healthy way to get the necessary useful proteins and fats. They are an alternative food when we need to eat something useful on foot or between meals.

Many cereals and legumes are present in our modern menu. However, we need to know how to consume them properly in order to get the most out of them. Among other things, proper processing removes harmful ingredients from them.

For example, legumes and cereals, but especially nuts and seeds, contain substances called enzyme inhibitors. They are important for these crops because they act as a defense mechanism against rot. However, these substances are not needed by the human body.

At the same time, the shell of these crops contains phytic acid, which in the human body does not allow the absorption of useful copper, iron, zinc, calcium and magnesium. Regular consumption of unsoaked seeds and nuts can lead to stomach problems, mineral deficiency and other health problems.

The solution is one, and that is soaking the nuts and seeds. In this way the inhibitors in them are neutralized and the phytic acid disappears.

When placed in water, the nut wakes up and begins to germinate. It comes to life and begins the production of useful enzymes, the amount of vitamins increases, gluten disappears and it becomes much easier to resist. Soaking neutralizes toxins, prevents the loss of minerals, and the protein is more easily degraded.

Different crops are soaked in different ways. This is how:

These crops are soaked in lukewarm water, which should cover them a few inches on top. To each glass of water can be added 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Cover the dish and leave for the required time.

Seeds and nuts

They are also soaked in lukewarm water, which should cover them on top. A little Himalayan salt can be added to the water. The court is covered.

Soaked and washed nuts can be stored for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. Some of them, such as chia, do not wash after soaking. If you do not have time, soak them for 20 minutes, which will remove some of the harmful substances.

The substances added to the water help to quickly extract the harmful ingredients.
