Nuts and seeds can be a great element of our daily diet, as long as we learn when, how and how much to consume.
Like legumes and cereals, nuts also require pre-soaking to help absorb their vitamins and minerals. Their soaking or fermentation increases the content of their nutrients, thus making them even more useful.
However, keep in mind that there are seeds that are not suitable for soaking. Whose acquires the form of a gel if left soaked for a long time. However, if you prefer nuts, be sure to take care of them and yourself.
In its raw form, nuts and seeds contain phytic acid and other compounds that block digestive enzymes. All plants contain phytic acid, but nuts and seeds are almost on a par with legumes when it comes to it.
It is not harmful in limited quantities and even in some plants does not interfere with the processes of assimilation and processing of food, but in those in which it is high in content, soaking is recommended. Soaked for 2-3 hours in a mineral solution and then dehydrated, your seeds and nuts will enrich your food with many more useful nutrients.
In the mass food industry, this process is not applied because it takes too much valuable time. At home, however, you can afford to pre-process your breakfast. The soaking process consists mainly of two ingredients - warm water and salt.
For optimal results, it is good to soak your nuts between 7-24 hours in warm water with salt dissolved in it. For two tsp. nuts use 3 cups filtered water and 1 tbsp. sol. Leave at room temperature. In the morning, rinse and drain the nuts.
You can put them on baking paper and bake them or leave them in a ventilated place to dry on their own. Just be careful not to leave them anywhere so that they mold.
