The pie is one of the most delicious traditional Bulgarian dishes. Almost everyone keeps warm memories of the past, when he watched as enchanted how his grandmother usually, with the precision acquired over the years, manually rolls the pastry crusts, which, in turn, had an incredible taste.

Today, however, the store has everything and this traditional Bulgarian culinary art - the real homemade pie is about to disappear, as fewer and fewer modern housewives can or at least have time to prepare their own crusts for the delicious dish.

To avoid this real loss for the home kitchen, here are some tips on how to prepare bathed pastry crusts yourself.

For the dough itself you need 4 eggs, 1 kg of flour, 3 tbsp. oil, water.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs, add the oil and one hundred milliliters of water. Start adding the flour until you get a firm dough. When done, divide it into balls and leave it covered with a towel to rest for about twenty minutes. Spread the balls with a rolling pin on round crusts, making sure they are the same size. Cut the excess dough from each crust with a knife, and the leftovers can be used to make a new one.

It's time for the bath itself. The rolled crusts are cut into four. Put a large pot of water on the stove. Pour a handful of salt into it. Once it boils, place one of the crusts, then immediately immerse it in cold water. Remember that for the preparation of traditional bathed pie you will also need two unwashed crusts - for the top and bottom of the pie.

One of them is placed on the bottom of the pan in which you will bake the pie. Put a row of bathed crusts on it and sprinkle them with cheese, put a little butter, then another row of crusts, etc.

Finally, cover the pie with the second crust, which is not bathed. Bake in the lower oven. When it is ready, turn it over with the help of another tray or a large flat plate and put it back in the oven to bake on the other side.
