Free beer, delicious barbecue and lots of music are promised by the festival Sofia Mezi, which will be held between September 17 and 20 in the capital's Nadezhda district on the occasion of the opening of the new North Park.
The organizers also announced that the event will be attended by Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova. Admission will be free, and all attendees will be able to enjoy free beer and delicious appetizers prepared according to authentic recipes from Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Greece.
The Balkan Appetizers Festival will host guests from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the capital's renovated North Park.
Nearly 100 liters of beer will be offered to guests, and Master Miro will prepare a delicious roast pork. Other prominent chefs will delight the guests of the festival with a special sacrifice on a solar grill, which everyone can try for luck and prosperity.
The festival will be attended by Turkish and Greek masters, who will demonstrate some of the most delicious dishes typical of their country.
Turkish chefs will prepare ashura from 41 products, and Greeks will treat themselves with 2-meter cocoons.
The appetizer will be eaten against the background of Balkan rhythms, Bulgarian folk music and rock performances by the group Horizont. The Greek Medusa Orchestra will arrive especially for Sofia Mezi.
The concert will also be given by the stars Boban Zdravkovic and Gamzata from Ku-ku Band. The host of the event will be the rapper Enchev, who will also perform with his duet partner, the Romanian.
There are also other attractions such as a backgammon tournament for both adults and children, Canadian wrestling, competitions in hoping and drinking, a dance workshop, a quiz with questions about Sofia.
A special program with many songs and dances is also provided for the youngest guests of Sofia Mezi.
