The Consumer Protection Commission has banned the labeling of children for sausages and lutenitsa, as it is misleading. This was established by the last inspection of the commission.
The inspection showed that with these products, the manufacturers regularly put cartoon and fairy-tale characters on the packaging, which manipulates the parents that their products are intended for children.
However, the inspection of the CPC established that there is no difference between children's and ordinary products. This was announced by the chairman of the commission Dimitar Margaritov before the Bulgarian National Radio.
In our opinion, this is a deliberate delusion and especially when it comes to children, people are very sensitive and are willing to pay a little more, but to buy what they consider more useful and high quality, said the expert.
He added that this approach is very popular in the market. It is used in products such as sausages, lyutenitsa and mayonnaise.
Many parents are misled by the message and buy separate foods for their children, thinking that they are different from what they themselves consume. But in the tests such a difference was not found.
The consumption of ordinary products does not endanger the health of children, but it is an unfair commercial practice and for this reason the CPC prohibits its use.
If a violation is found, the sanctions for the manufacturer will reach BGN 30,000.
