After the fee for an empty chair in a restaurant in Sozopol, which shocked thousands of Bulgarians, another ridiculous fee came to light, which the bakers and pizzerias by the sea want from their customers.
In many places they charge ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard, which are generally free sauces, with between 1 and 1.50 levs, the Telegraph reports.
This was signaled by Bulgarians vacationing in Sozopol. They ordered sandwiches, and when they asked for ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard, the waiter replied that they were being charged extra.
Our people still insisted on bringing them the sauces, and when they finally looked at their bill, they saw that they were charged a total of BGN 4.50 - BGN 1.50 for each sauce.
It is good that we did not ask for additional colorful salt and savory, because our bill would jump by BGN 10, say the scalded customers.
Similar fees have been introduced by caravans selling hamburgers on the native Black Sea coast. They have announced decent prices, but without specifying that vegetables and potatoes are paid extra.
Thus, customers, lured by prices of 2-3 levs for a chicken sandwich, after asking for vegetables and french fries, find that they have to pay 9-10 levs for their sandwich.
In some pubs they have introduced another number. They have announced prices of BGN 2.50 for fried horse mackerel and BGN 5 for chicken steak, but when you finally have to pay the bill, it becomes clear that the prices were for a portion of 100 grams, but in reality you were brought a bigger one.
Meanwhile, an inspection was ordered at the Sozopol restaurant, which became known for the empty chair fee. It was first visited by Burgas inspectors, who found no violations.
