The preparation of standard couscous does not take more time than making tea for example. Put it in a glass and pour boiling water over it, stir and cover with a lid or foil for about 5 minutes. Then put a lump of butter and stir again. To make it tastier and more fragrant, add cumin, coriander or cinnamon and cover again for 5 minutes.

Instead of water, you can pour couscous with chicken or beef broth. If you decide to prepare it this way, our advice is to add the leaves of green herbs of your choice - mint, basil, dill. A good option is a handful of finely chopped green onions and a lump of butter.

If you want to prepare a larger amount of couscous, preheat a large heat-resistant plate with water or broth in the oven at a low temperature (about 120 degrees). After removing it, pour into it couscous and add the butter. Stir well so that the nipples do not stick. Add green spices to your taste and finely chopped ham. Cover with a lid or foil for a few minutes and add extra oil before serving.

If you are in an adventurous mood, add three tablespoons of sour cream and stir.

The best spices for couscous are fresh coriander, basil and parsley. Grated lemon peel is also a good option. You can try by adding nuts - walnuts or chopped almonds. Also dried fruits - apricots, raisins, but you should also add pieces of fried chicken.
