The culinary secrets of nature are already revealed in the restaurants of K-Express in Sofia, Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv.
Throughout the month of November 2014, you can order dishes based on 12 recipes, which are traditional for the area of Bulgarka Nature Park, as part of the campaign "Culinary Secrets of Nature" - a joint initiative of WWF, K-Express and the Embassy of the Confederation. Switzerland in Bulgaria.
Peppers with rice and mushrooms from the village of Zeleno Darvo, spicy beans with olives, Tryavna mushroom soup, vegetarian moussaka according to Tryavna, false Sabi from Gabrovo, Tryavna pepper salad, pork with potatoes, prunes and leeks, Tryavna sach with chicken and chicken, the eggplant according to Tryavna, the roasted pumpkin with milk, honey and walnuts, the soda bread with cheese and the Tryavna chorbadji casserole already bring aroma and tradition to the hectic everyday life of modern Bulgarians.
You can order these folk dishes every day in the restaurants of K-Express.
10% of the amount collected from the sale of food according to recipes from Bulgarka Nature Park will be invested in a fund that will be spent on the restoration of mid-mountain sheep on pastures in the park area.
After the end of the campaign, we will use the funds raised to buy lambs from the endangered breed. We will provide these lambs for breeding to farmers in the park area so that we can gradually restore the breed, and thus preserve the mountain pastures and all their biodiversity.
The initiative is part of the payment scheme for ecosystem services "Restoration and maintenance of the characteristic gene pool in protected areas" developed by WWF.
We offer you three of the traditional recipes from PP "Bulgarka", which you will find in the recipes section of Gotvach.bg.
They are provided by WWF, but are further refined in the kitchens of K-Express. Here you can see how these dishes were prepared according to old books and local people.
