You may not believe your eyes, but the drop in the picture is not water, but a real dessert. Because of its appearance, it is called Raindrop and is the work of master chef Darren Wong.
The dessert is inspired by a traditional dish for Japanese cuisine and for its preparation only 2 ingredients are used - water and agar obtained from the extraction of red and brown algae.
Algae are from the Pacific Ocean and the White Sea, and in the recipe they have proven to be ideal substitutes for gelatin.
The Raindrop dessert made its public debut last weekend at the Smorgasburg grocery market in the United States. The food product was presented as a delicate combination of spring water and agar.
The ball can be served chilled and garnished with molasses or roasted nuts, ground to a powder, says its creator. The more pleasant moment, however, is not the eating of the cake itself, but the amazing way in which it is prepared, the spectators were categorical.

Before it officially appeared on the market, the Raindrop dessert was shown in a video on the Internet. However, most people doubted that this was real food, and assumed that it was an April Fool's joke.
Although it is a cake, in practice this delicacy is low in calories and no matter how much you eat from it, you will not gain weight. It is also suitable for vegans because it lacks products of animal origin.
