In Guinness World Records you can come across all sorts of strange, difficult, fun, different and sometimes even impossible numbers. Our Romanian neighbors fit into this popular book with a delicious record for the largest salad.
The weight of the salad they prepared was 19 tons, and the volunteers who took part in making it were 1,000 people.
The process of its preparation took 8 hours, but all this work was definitely worth it, because it brought the homeland of these people a prize for The largest salad in the world.
The bowl in which the salad was placed is 18 meters long, almost 3 meters wide and 53 cm deep. Most of the products were local, so the Romanians also aimed to promote their own products.
Tourists from Slovakia, Bulgaria and Serbia also joined the process and helped achieve this dream.
Such attempts at records, in addition to being fun, turn out to be extremely useful and meaningful for a large part of society. After the salad was weighed, approved and recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, the organizers divided it among those present who worked hard and people in need - the poor, the homeless, orphans, and homes raising such people.
Even the scraps left over from the salad were used for something useful - they were donated to an animal farm in Panteleimon.
The previous similar record belongs to Greece, but their salad weighed 13 tons. Which will be the next country with a bigger salad and how many people will it feed in the end?
