Inspectors from the Food Safety Agency confiscated nearly 300kg of illegal meat in Asenovgrad and neighboring villages. The inspection was carried out with the assistance of the police.
The action was held on Wednesday in farmyards, garages and unregulated meat production sites and partly in some stores.
Inspectors seized nearly 100 kilograms of carcass from lambs and about 120 kilograms of illegal beef. In addition, offal and pork were confiscated.
The meat was sent for destruction to the slaughterhouse in Varna.

Meanwhile, the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture - Stara Zagora and amateur fishermen have stockpiled Koprinka Dam. 250 kilograms of fish have been released into the reservoir, including silver carp and carp.
Inspections by the Food Agency will continue during the Easter holidays.
