Jamie Oliver is one of the most popular TV personalities. To him, the definition of a great cook even sounds too weak - he has a special relationship to food, to the process of eating and cooking. After gaining serious popularity, Jamie decided to address several causes that are directly related to food and its healthy preparation.

Born in Essex, UK, Jamie Oliver has had an interest in food and cooking since he was very young. He helped his parents in the family home and left school at the age of 16 and completed his studies at Westminster Kingsway College.

He then worked for a while in London and France, after which he started working in the popular River Cafe. He worked there for more than three years, during which he also starred in a documentary about River Coffee.

Shortly after the film aired, Jamie received an offer to shoot his own show, and so began The Naked Chef - the show was very successful and the team decided to start a tour that went through the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Another of his shows, Jamie's Kitchen, is broadcast in 40 countries, and in 2003 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire.

Having gained enough popularity, Jamie hit the right moment and started one of his most ambitious endeavors. In 2004, he decided to take a tour of British schools and inform students, as well as kitchen workers, about how to prepare their food in a healthy way.

He launched a petition to improve school children's food and at the same time launched a campaign called Feed Me Better.

In the same year (2004) he started growing his own vegetables and fruits in his garden in Essex.

The phenomenal success of the chef suggests that it is time for some other endeavor - he is developing a design for cutlery, in addition, there are several series of kitchen utensils, including professional, named after him.

He then created a series of Italian products that are sold around the world, and a few years later opened a chain of Italian restaurants. Two years later, he launched an iPhone app that called 20-minute meals - quite unexpectedly, this app became a hit in the US and the UK. The app won the Apple Design application award.

In 2008, a series was launched in Rotterdam called Jamie's Ministry of Food, which aims to teach people who can't cook to do well in the kitchen. Jamie also founded a center in the city called the Ministry of Food and provides information and lessons to anyone who is ready to leave the semi-finished products and start cooking.

In 2009, another TV show began, in which he discussed the issue of pig farming in the UK - the show called Jamie saves our bacon.

In 2010, the show Jamie Oliver - Culinary Revolution, which the chef filmed for American television, received the prestigious Emmy Award. The award was presented in the category of Best Reality Series.

Along with all his activities, Jamie writes cookbooks, which contain not only recipes but also advice for young chefs. That same year, when he won the Emmy Award, the chef began the 30-Minute Meals show, which led to Jamie's 30-Minute Meals book.

Jamie won the 2010 TED Prize for his passionate fight against obesity, processed foods and junk food, the companies that profit from it, and the wrong student nutrition policy.

In 2012, Oliver's show - My Menu for 15 minutes began. The British chef is known not only for his attitude to food - he is also popular for his straightforwardness.

In an interview in 2013, he said that European immigrants are better workers than Britons. That same year, Oliver finally condemned the McDonald's chain for adding ammonium hydroxide to the minced meat.

Jamie is married and lives with his wife and their four children in Essex. In addition to being a high-class chef, Jamie is also a good musician - founder and drummer of the band Scarlet Division.
