Born on October 14, 1955, Thomas Keller is perhaps the most famous and titled American chef. His two restaurants - Napa Valley and French Londre, located in California, have won almost all the culinary and restaurant world awards.

Apart from that, Keller was awarded the title of Best Chef in the World in 1996. This award was given by the James Beard Foundation. In 1997, the chef won the Best Chef of America award. French Londry Restaurant has been repeatedly named the best restaurant in the world.

In 2005, Keller was awarded a three-Michelin star for his restaurant Per Se in New York and three more stars in 2006 for French Londry. Keller thus became the only American chef to win three Michelin stars at the same time for two different restaurants. The great chef currently holds a total of seven Michelin stars for three of his restaurants.

Keller's path to haute cuisine is not easy at all. As a child, he helped his mother, who worked in a restaurant. After his parents divorced, he moved to Florida, where he worked as a dishwasher to help patch up the family budget. Gradually he discovered his passion for cooking.

Employers noticed his talent and Keller began to move quickly up the professional ladder. His life changed dramatically when he was accidentally spotted by French culinary guru Roland Henin. From him Keller learned the basics of classic French cuisine.

This already gave him a solid foundation, and Keller soon became the chef of the small French restaurant La Riv in the suburbs of New York. There he improved and developed new techniques in the preparation of beef, which later brought him worldwide fame. A few years later, after his failed attempt to buy La Reeve, Keller left. He went first to New York and then to Paris, where he worked in various Michelin-starred restaurants.

In 1992, tired of traveling, Keller opened the French Londry restaurant. The restaurant quickly became a local and then a world hit. After being awarded the Michelin stars, it became a culinary legend.

Since then, success has been Keller's constant companion. He opened seven more restaurants in different parts of the United States, each in the top 50 in the world.
