The kitchen is the place where we prepare delicious meals for ourselves and our loved ones. However, the miracles you create there are almost always accompanied by a strong, persistent and not always pleasant smell.
It has probably happened to you that once you are done, the furniture, the clothes, and you yourself will smell what you have cooked. Sometimes, the hood doesn't help, the open terrace doesn't either.
Here are some tips to help you to deal with the smell of prepared dishes in the kitchen!
1. About your clothes
We miss you because you can always take a shower and wash away the smell. As for the clothes, however, you have 2 options: put them in the washing machine by adding a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice or before soaking them in water and dissolved white vinegar in it. This way you can be sure that after washing, there will be no trace of the smell of cooked food.
2. For furniture and surfaces
In case you use the kitchen actively and you are a housewife for example, some of the furniture will probably be soaked with the smell of different dishes you prepare. They need ventilation. Leave the cabinets open, the drawers on the terrace, if you can move other furniture outside, do it. Let the wind remove the scent.
As for the surfaces, you can clean them with bleach and water. After passing the solution, rinse well and repeat the procedure, but this time with another mixture - baking soda and water. Leave for a few minutes and wipe with a cloth or rag pre-soaked in lemon oil. If after all the procedures you still feel an unpleasant odor, varnish or paint the surfaces.
3. For everything else
An option is to rub a solution of soda and water on some surfaces, dishes and in your own hands. This will make the smell of the products disappear.
Frying is the treatment that creates the most odor problems. You can get rid of it by putting a glass of vinegar on the stove. It will draw the smell.
Also, be sure to turn on the extractor and always ventilate while cooking and afterwards.
When cleaning the room, use quality detergents with a pleasant aroma.
In case dirt accumulates in the sink, you can clean it with baking soda. Rub and rinse. As a substitute for soda you can use yogurt, it works in the same way.
