There is a great variety of fruits and vegetables around the world. We don't even know that some of them exist, and the ones we've tried are spread all over the world. Here are some tropical fruits, which, although not very popular in Bulgaria, are extremely popular around the world.

In India, mangoes have been grown for thousands of years and are an indispensable part of the magnificent culinary traditions of the peninsula. Both various desserts and the typical Indian yoghurt are prepared from ripe mango.

Green fruits are also used in typical Indian culinary specialties, and dried and powdered are a popular and beloved spice. The mango is starting to gain more and more popularity in Bulgaria, and its unique sweet and soft taste is really impressive.

Although native to Central America, papaya is a popular crop in all tropical countries, and beyond. The ripe fruits are mostly used raw, while the greens can be used to prepare various curries and other vegetable dishes.

They are also used for marinating meat, because in the unripe state the fruit contains a large amount of enzyme that breaks down proteins.

These fruits with a juicy fleshy part and fine taste come from China and Southeast Asia and can reach our table as sauces, marinades and even lasagna, in the company of aromatic cheeses, seafood, chicken and other fruits.

Pitaya is the fruit of several species of cacti, mostly of the species Hylocereus. These fruits are known as dragon fruits. They come from Mexico, Central and South America. Eat only the inner part, which is very soft.

Sometimes it resembles a kiwi due to the presence of black crispy seeds. Meat that is eaten raw is slightly sweet and low in calories. The fruit is converted into juice or wine, or used to flavor other beverages.
