The huge variety of grape varieties implies the richness of different types of wines that can be produced from them. Dozens of varieties of vines are the result of many years of hard work, and many of them are the product of the world's best selection of wine grapes.

Each variety, regardless of whether it originates from Bulgaria or the rest of the world, is characterized by its specific agronomic and technological indicators.

Merlot

Merlot originates from France. In our country it is widespread in all wine regions. The grapes ripen around mid-September - about 10-15 days earlier than Cabernet Sauvignon. It is more sensitive to low winter temperatures than Cabernet Sauvignon. The aroma of young wines is described as dominated by nuances reminiscent of ripe cherry and prune. Floral shades are found in some areas.

It produces extremely high quality white wines with an intense aroma most often dominated by shades of tropical fruits (melon, pineapple, fig), and in cases where it is grown on calcareous soils, the characteristic mineral nuances.

Cabernet Sauvignon

In our country Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widely used variety for red wines. It is medium-ripe - it ripens in September, in the warmer regions at the beginning, and in the others - at the end of the month. There is a very good fertility. The wines are characterized by an intense aroma of small red fruits - mainly blackcurrants, blackberries and mulberries, intense dark red color and good density.

Muscat Otonel

The variety was obtained from seeds in the city of Angers, France by Robert Moreal in 1852. Today, Muscat is distributed in almost all wine-growing countries. The grain is slightly spherical, juicy, with a pleasant taste and a strong characteristic nutmeg aroma.

White dry wines produced from this variety are spectacular, with a very intense aroma with a floral character, reminiscent of violets and indrishe, significant density and moderate freshness. Wines are consumed young. Very good dessert wines are produced from this variety.
