Soy is one of the few plant foods that is considered a complete substitute for meat. It is a source of protein and amino acids. According to some experts, it fights bad cholesterol and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. Viewed from this side, it turns out that soy is very useful, and its products are almost mandatory.

But the truth turns out to be quite different. Soy products support the spread of cancer cells, according to a recent study by the Sloan Catering Cancer Center.

The center monitored the condition of 140 women. They were diagnosed with grade 1-2 breast cancer recently and were given a mastectomy or lumpectomy two weeks later.

Half of the women took soy protein and the rest took placebo. The course lasted between seven and thirty days before the intervention to remove the cancer.

Specialists analyzed the carcinogenic samples before and after the manipulation. They found that there were differences in the distribution of genes associated with cell growth in the tissues studied. Unpleasant consequences are observed in patients who took soy.

The experiment showed that soy products can accelerate the development of cancer and its spread. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear whether this process can be stopped.

In fact, scientists have long talked about the dark side of soy products. According to many, the phytoacid that soy contains, which is a natural plant ingredient, interferes with the absorption of calcium, magnesium and iron, which in turn leads to osteoporosis.

According to Prof. Dr. Mark Messina, soy intake in adulthood is not good for people at all. The expert even categorically rejects the claim that soy consumption can have a good effect on breast cancer.

Another negative feature of soy products is that nowadays most of them are made from GMO soy. Scientists have already proven that these crops have a high level of pesticide contamination.

That is why more experts recommend limiting the intake of soy products. Among them, when we eat soy in minimal quantities and when we are absolutely sure that the grains are not genetically modified, there should be no problems.
