Many people think that vegetarians do not eat healthily and that vegetarianism as such is a movement of modern society. Both are a complete delusion. Many ancient philosophers and thinkers such as Pythagoras, Plutarch, Plato, Socrates, Seneca and Buddha were vegetarians, world-famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh, writers, poets, musicians and many others as well.

Even in Bulgarian society there have been and still are many vegetarians. Peter Deunov, Vladimir Dimitrov - the Master and Lily Ivanova are just a small part of the names of famous vegetarians that can be listed.

It is also wrong to say that vegetarians eat poorly because they are deprived of the proteins contained in meat products, because with the right combination of plant proteins, nothing really interferes with the healthy diet of vegetarians.

Vegetarianism is divided into several streams and the diet depends mostly on what people who follow the principles of these movements have decided to eat. For example, vegetarian vegetarians eat meat but consume milk, eggs, and honey, while vegetarian vegetarians do not eat meat or eggs.

Vegans, on the other hand, consume absolutely no animal products, including milk, cheese, yellow cheese, eggs and honey. The most extreme are considered to be raw foodists, who, in addition to not consuming meat and dairy products, do not subject to any heat treatment the food they eat. There are also semi-vegetarians who do not eat meat, but eat chicken and fish, which is why they are not well received by true vegetarians.

With the exception of raw foodists, which are a slightly different topic, all other vegetarians can eat completely healthy. Most of them know about the principle of protein supplementation, which is a guiding principle for the healthy menu of all vegetarians. It is based on the combination of different plant proteins, and the combination is in many cases better than meat proteins.

For example, combining legumes that contain almost no methionine with lysine-poor cereals results in high-quality protein intake. Following this basic principle, the menu of any vegetarian can be quite healthy, even healthier than that of people who like to eat meat.
