Then they start looking for grape pickers, and the vineyard must hire a padar to monitor not only their work, but also to protect the valuable fruits from theft.

In addition, when the berry came off the bunch, there should always be a small part of it left on the stalk. Therefore, it was considered that it was really time to gather.

The first ripe grapes are traditionally brought to a nearby church to be consecrated. It was then distributed to church attendees, neighbors and friends. What was left had to be consumed before sunset for blessing.

Although the grape harvest is not a philosophical work, it requires a lot of physical effort. However, it has long been considered one of the most enjoyable farming activities, because then the whole family gathers and works side by side, so that physical fatigue is not felt, and the harvest itself becomes a holiday.

The grape harvest was usually carried out by 5 women who picked the grapes and 1 man to transport it. Pickers were also hired who had a good voice and sang during the grape harvest to pass the time faster.

When the working day ended, the participants in the grape harvest gathered to eat and drink wine, and the men were even given a glass or two of homemade brandy.
