You go to the hypermarket and buy your favorite natural yogurt to eat with the natural healthy breakfast. You pay for them an idea more expensive, because, after all, they are natural! They are not like the rest of the junk of the food industry, which is full of preservatives, dyes and all kinds of E's.
The cruel truth is that when you buy products from the store with the inscription "completely natural" you do not take better care of your health. You just pay the salary of more skilled marketers. Manufacturers have long discovered that it is enough to label their chemically modified and processed products as "natural" and this automatically leads to increased sales.
The reason many world-famous food giants can afford to do this is that it is not banned. Surprisingly, there is no official definition of the term "natural" in the food industry. This gives a wide field for interpretation of the term "natural".
Many growers believe that once grown from nature, it is obviously as natural as potatoes. Does this automatically mean that potato chips are also natural?
No food agency in the world regulates the "completely natural" products distributed by the food industry. This allows companies to advertise all non-natural processes and chemical additives in products as completely natural with impunity.
Again, we will give the example of "natural" chips, which is produced from organic potatoes - when frying starch at a particularly high temperature, specific substances are formed - acrylamides, which have been scientifically proven to have carcinogenic effects.
Even the salt that is used in various foods is not natural. Almost all products on the market contain processed salt, not full-spectrum brown or pink salt, such as Celtic sea salt, which is truly natural.
The lack of different E's on the product label is also not a guarantee of its naturalness. It's just that good marketing has thought about that. Now the various chemical additives are gradually being renamed into new, innocent-sounding names that are not known to the general public.
Recently, very often in the various "natural" products you can find the declared content of monosodium glutamate in the label. It sounds almost safe and exotic until you find that monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a neurotoxic substance that is classified as an exotoxin.
Elevated doses of this substance can cause migraines, damage to a person's endocrine system, the ability to regulate appetite (which can lead to obesity), neurological damage to embryos and much more.
This fact is widely known to many of the major food producers. This prevents many of them from continuing to use the dangerous compound under the innocent name of "yeast extract" or "hydrolyzed proteins". Recently, MSG can also be found as torula yeast (yeast from yeast fungus).
So, what exactly is behind the inscription "completely natural"? It turns out that everything the manufacturer asked for. Food with a label that advertises it as natural may contain traces of pesticides, herbicides, toxic heavy metals, synthetic chemical vitamins, by-products of high temperature combustion, toxic fluoride, and more.
There is no requirement for food manufacturers to label the various chemical contaminants that can be found in their products. Do you already feel like a participant in a giant Russian roulette?
