Pears - these temptingly delicious and rather late summer to autumn fruits, are well known in our country. The requirements for growing them are higher than those for apples. They are most picky about heat. Pears are quite heat-loving, which is why they grow best in the South and in the lower regions of Northern Bulgaria.

Pear varieties are self-fertile. In order to give birth, they need to plant seedlings of mutually pollinated varieties. The most popular varieties in our country are:

Gifford's olive tree

The fruits of this variety are medium-sized, greenish with a dull red to bright red color. They ripen in the second half of July. The fruit itself is juicy and has a sweet to slightly sour taste, with very good quality. The Gifard olive tree is pollinated by William's olive tree, Dr. Jules Guyot, Class Pet and Good Louise.

Good Louisa is an excellent pollinator.
