On the market in our country you can see that there is a huge variety of different types of cheese. But not all products can be labeled real yellow cheese.
Here how to recognize real yellow cheese in the store - see useful tips in the following lines:
1. Don't be fooled by the low price of the product
Unfortunately, in yellow cheese, as in any other natural product, there are fakes. You have probably been impressed by the fact that on the shelves in the store you can find packages of yellow cheese, which costs less.
Real yellow cheese is produced from milk and the use of bacterial yeast and natural enzymes. Raw materials consisting of milk fat are not a budget option, so modern technologists have found a simple substitute for milk fat by replacing it with vegetable fat, such as palm oil, of which we are all well aware.
Price is the first thing to keep in mind when choosing yellow cheese. 11 liters of milk are needed for the production of 1 kg of quality product. Therefore, its price cannot be lower than BGN 12-13 per kilogram. If the price of the product is much lower than that, then it is most likely a "fake" product filled with cheap palm oil.
2. Read the labels carefully
The shelves of modern stores offer consumers to buy "dairy product" and "imitation dairy product". And although there is the word "dairy" in both labels, this should not deceive us and omit the rest of what is written.
Imitation products do not have such useful qualities. The composition includes skim milk, which is "enriched" with palm oil and quite often - with flavorings. All this to one degree or another has a detrimental effect on the human body. Therefore, if you are interested in buying a high quality and natural product, then carefully read the composition: it can not contain vegetable fats.
3. Appearance and taste
High quality natural yellow cheese leaves an aftertaste for at least ten minutes. Yellow cheese, which contains palm oil, quickly loses its taste in the mouth after we have tried it. The fact is that the palm oil itself has no smell or taste.
Accordingly, a product that is half of it is the same. In addition, the palm oil product dries the throat and makes you feel thirsty.
Another method is how to check whether the yellow cheese is real is by applying light pressure with your fingers. If fatty fluid leaks from it, it most likely contains vegetable fats. You can also test for palm oil in the microwave.
Under the influence of temperatures, the natural yellow cheese softens slightly, acquires a tough character, while the product imitating it becomes liquid and spreads on the side.
