Volunteers and chefs from the Tokuri Tay restaurant claim to have set a world record by making Hawaii's largest dish of white rice, meatballs, eggs and sauce.

The typical Hawaiian loko moko dish was prepared in a restaurant during the 5th consecutive traditional rice festival in Hawaii. The authors of the dish say that it weighs 510 kilograms, which is worthy of Guinness World Records.

Chef Hideaki Miyoshi of the Tokuri Tay restaurant explains that the dish is made from 200 kilograms of white rice, 90 kilograms of beef, scrambled eggs and sauce.

It took 30 hours to prepare a typical Hawaiian dish, and once it was ready, loco moko was distributed to feed the homeless.

Loko moko was first made in the 1940s in Hilla, Hawaii. It must include white rice, meatballs, eggs and meat sauce.

The Guinness Book of Records announces that they will study the Hawaiian record, and the dish must exceed half a tonne to be entered in the Book of Records.

The traditional recipe is based on three main products - eggs, meatballs and white rice. To prepare it at home, for 4 servings you need 300 grams of rice, 1 onion, 1 clove of garlic, 2 slices of white bread, 200 milliliters of skim milk, 5 eggs, 450 grams of minced beef, sunflower oil, salt and black pepper.

To prepare the sauce you need 1 tablespoon of flour, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, ketchup and 100 milliliters of beef broth.

Finely chop the garlic and onion. Soak the crustless bread in the milk. Put the minced meat in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Mix with onion, garlic, bread and one egg.

Knead the minced meat and make 4 large meatballs. Squeeze them to make them flatter and fry them in a pan with a little fat. Then boil the rice.

In the fat in which you fried the meatballs, fry the flour, stirring. When baked, after 1-2 minutes, add the beef broth, soy sauce and a little ketchup. The sauce does not have to be very thin. Strain it so that there are no lumps and leftover meat.

Finally, fry the remaining eggs. When arranging loko moko, first place rice, meatballs on it, fried egg over the meatball and then pour the sauce.
