It can be said that the nettle is a miracle that nature has given us. It is known for its astringent, expectorant, tonic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic action. Nettle is a source of beta-carotene, vitamins A, C and E, iron, calcium, phosphates and minerals.

Due to all these qualities, it is recommended as a powerful means of preventing liver, arthritis, rheumatic and kidney diseases, as well as in the treatment of allergies and anemia. Along with this, many delicious dishes can be prepared from it.

Breaded nettle

To do this, separate the nettle leaves from the stem. Soak the leaves in a saucepan of boiling water for about 1-2 minutes. Then squeeze them on kitchen paper to remove the remaining water.

For the breading, beat 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons flour and salt to taste. In a pan with hot oil, fry the pre-dipped leaves in the breadcrumbs. Fry until golden and serve as an appetizer.

Nettle soup

Ingredients: 1 bunch nettle, 1/2 cup rice, leek stalk, 1 small onion, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. flour, 1 tsp. yogurt, oil, salt and paprika.

Preparation: clean the nettle and boil it for about 5 minutes in a saucepan with water. Then strain it and when it cools, cut it.

Meanwhile, chop the onions and leeks, and fry them in a pan with oil until soft. A minute before removing them from the heat, add to them a teaspoon of paprika and flour. In a saucepan with 1.5 liters of water put the chopped nettle and put on the stove.

After the nettle boils, add the prepared stuffing and rice to it. Simmer for about 20 minutes.

In a suitable bowl, beat the egg and yoghurt and five minutes after removing the soup from the stove, add them in a thin stream, stirring vigorously.
