Fruit nectars are the second type of fruit juice on the market. In them the juice is less and the taste - much more sour. They are most often made from plums, apricots, pears or blackcurrants. They contain from 25 to 50% of the flesh of the fruit, strained and diluted with sweetened water.

The third type are fruit drinks, which contain only 10-20% fruit extract. They are most popular because of their low price. The rest of their composition is water, sugar, artificial flavors and preservatives.

A new study conducted by scientists at the University of Technology in Swinburne, Australia, found a real risk in the consumption of fruit juices, namely - high blood pressure.

It is guaranteed in people who regularly take fruit juices. Interestingly, even just one glass a day can lead to a crisis and lead to various problems, such as heart attack or angina.

Dr. Matthew Pace, the study's lead author, explains that while fruit juices contain vital vitamins, they often contain high amounts of sugar, combined with minimal fiber.

It is such a daily dose of juice can increase sugar intake. This exacerbates hypertension and cardiovascular disease. In addition, fruit juices are considered to be the largest contributor to obesity and diabetes in the UK.

Just 250 milliliters of juice contains 115 calories. This equates to 7 tablespoons of sugar. For comparison, a pitcher of Coca-Cola contains 139 calories.

The opinion of experts is that fruit juices are also to blame for the extremely poor condition of children's teeth. One in eight children in developed countries, including Bulgaria, has tooth decay at the age of three.
