Easter is approaching and egg painting is a must. If you do not want to use artificial paints, we offer you several options for painting with completely natural paints. Use the gifts of nature, just as they did in the past.
Dyeing eggs with natural dyes is absolutely harmless, and the colors are light and beautiful. It takes a little longer than with artificial paints, but what better than nature!
When you start painting, the eggs should be boiled and cooled.
Red color - put the peels of 10 red onions in 1 liter of water and cook until 1/3 of the water remains. Wait for it to cool and add 1 tbsp. salt and vinegar. Dip the eggs and leave them for an hour, turning them from time to time.
For green color, use spinach and water, after boiling, add vinegar and leave to cool.
For a yellow color, mix 1 tsp. turmeric, 1 tsp. vinegar and 3 glasses of water. Boil for 30 minutes and allow the mixture to cool. Strain it and soak the eggs in the resulting paint for half an hour.
Orange color - you need a cup of onion peels, 1 tsp. vinegar and 3 glasses of water. Boil for 30 minutes, allow the mixture to cool and strain the flakes. The eggs should sit for half an hour.
For a pink color, mix 1 cup of red beet juice and ½ tsp. vinegar. Add 3 cups of water and let the eggs inside for 30 minutes.
To get a purple color mix 1 cup grape juice, ½ tsp. vinegar and again 3 cups of water. Let the eggs stand for 30 minutes.
Make a great light blue color mix 1 cup chopped red cabbage, 1 tsp. vinegar and 3 glasses of water. Boil for 30 minutes, cool and put the eggs inside for another 30 minutes.
When you have finished painting, let the eggs dry and polish them with oil. For this you need a cotton ball or cotton cloth on which to drip a little olive oil or oil.
