In almost every Bulgarian household, meat and meat products are revered. At the same time, most statistics show that the amount of space should be severely limited and more fresh fruits and vegetables should be eaten. And it really is. The main reason is that meat contains a lot of fat and is one of the foods that the body fails to process quickly.

This does not mean rejecting meat at all, but rather keeping track of the amount of meat you consume and choosing what meat you buy. Most nutritionists believe that it is important to follow the method of the so-called food pyramid.

According to her rules, the most important thing for a healthy lifestyle is to drink plenty of water, to focus on carbohydrate foods that are high in fiber, and to limit the consumption of protein foods such as meat.

Here are some tips on what rules to follow regarding the consumption of meat and meat products and how to choose them:

- Choose meats that are low in fat. These are chicken, turkey, chicken and rabbit meat. If you still get tired of beef, lamb or pork, choose one that does not contain as much fat;

- Sausages and meat products contain a lot of salt, preservatives and other obscure ingredients, so it is good to avoid them;

- Always remove the skin from the meat, as well as the skins, veins and all visible fats from beef, pork, beef and lamb;

- Keep in mind that meat can be seasoned with a variety of vegetable spices. With the exception of ready-made spices such as vegeta and piquant, which are considered not to be useful, you can emphasize all fresh spices because they facilitate the digestion of less easily digestible meat;

- White poultry and lean fish are best for young children. Adults should also emphasize the white meat of small animals and fish;

- No matter what meat you choose, always eat it in small quantities and richly garnished with vegetables;

- Avoid smoked meats, unless you have cooked them only at home;

- Include protein at every meal, but alternate them with milk protein and eggs. For example, for breakfast you can make a slice of black or wholemeal bread and add chicken fillet to it. At lunch you can eat something lean in combination with milk or eggs, and at dinner - lean meat, chicken or fish.
