For the seventh year in a row, the best Austrian wines will be presented in the Bulgarian capital at the popular Grand Austrian Tasting 2014 tasting, which will take place on June 19.

The event will be held in the garden of the Hilton Hotel from 12 to 20 hours, and the entrance will cost 10 leva.

The main goal of the exhibition this year is to promote Austrian wine culture, as the event is supported by Austrian wine marketing.

Fans of good wine will have the opportunity to try over 50 Austrian wines, rated with the most prestigious ratings by the international specialized press.

This year's exhibition in Sofia will present the harvest of 17 wineries in Austria - Burgenland, Weinfirtel, Karnuntum, Kremstal, Kamptal, Steiermark, as well as the legendary vineyards around the capital Vienna.

Vienna is perhaps the only capital of a country with its own wine region. His specialty is Gemischter satz - white wine from mixed varieties on the vineyard, which are picked and fermented together.

"After six years of hard work, we hope that Bulgaria and Austria have got to know each other somewhat in wine terms and we will be happy for our visitors to have Grand Austrian Tasting as a meeting with good acquaintances," said Yana Petkova, one of the event organizers..

Even basic Austrian wines are made so that they can be aged for at least a year or two after they go on the market. This edition of Grand Austrian Tasting will offer quite interesting wines from older vintages.

People who will be attending Grand Austrian Tasting 2014 this year will also be able to try sparkling wines from Australia and New Zealand, including Bert Salomon's award-winning wines.

Recently, the Greek dessert wine Malvasia from the 2010 vintage was named the best wine in the Balkans in 2014.

The Greek wine was selected by an international jury at the third edition of the Balkan Wine Competition and Festival. 400 wines from the Balkan Peninsula, Central and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region competed at the festival.
