In just one week, the price of lemons has jumped by almost 25 percent and in wholesale markets a kilo of citrus is offered for BGN 5.18. This price increase is a record for this year.
Already last week, the citizens of Sofia in the Lozenets district felt the higher prices of lemons. They warned that in some stores citrus fruits were traded for BGN 10 per kilogram.
24.8% more expensive lemons have become the most expensive food product in a week at least so far. Data from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets show that garden cucumbers have also set a record, but in terms of price.
In one week, the price of garden cucumbers fell by 20.8% and the average value of vegetables sold wholesale is 80 stotinki per kilogram.
Garden tomatoes have also become cheaper in recent days. Their decline by 5.1% formed a wholesale price of 74 stotinki per kilogram. On the other hand, greenhouses have risen in price by 2.7%.
The prices of melons also decreased by 1.3% on the stock exchanges. Their kilogram is now traded for 74 stotinki.
Peaches and watermelons have kept their prices from last week at 98 stotinki and 33 stotinki per kilogram, respectively.
Another popular commodity - cabbage, keeps its price, as we are still far from the season for putting sauerkraut. Wholesale vegetables are sold for 35 stotinki per kilogram.
The potatoes have also kept their levels from the previous week - 58 stotinki per kilogram wholesale.
However, apples have risen in price by 3.4% and the price per kilogram is now BGN 1.20.
Of dairy products, cow's cheese dropped slightly by 1.9%. It is sold at an average of BGN 5.66 per kilogram wholesale. Vitosha yellow cheese has also become cheaper and its wholesale price reaches BGN 11.11 per kilogram.
The oil has risen in price by 1% and its new wholesale price is BGN 2 per liter.
Eggs are also more expensive than this week. Their price has increased by 1 stotinka and they are offered wholesale for an average of 19 stotinki each.
Sugar remains at prices of BGN 1.24 per kilogram. The values of the flour type 500 - 84 stotinki per kilogram are also unchanged.
