The State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets reported a decrease in the prices of most food products for the last week, but the most visible is the decline in watermelons and apricots.
For a week the price of watermelons has fallen by 25%. Summer fruits are already sold on the stock exchanges for 50 stotinki per kilogram. Apricots, whose values are 14.3% lower, are also visibly cheaper.
Peaches are also cheaper by 8.6%. The decrease of apples was by 7.4%, and of melons - by 4.3%.
An increase was registered in citrus fruits. The price of bananas rose by 2.1%, and of lemons - by 8.5% compared to their values last week.
However, cherries are the most expensive fruit that can be found on wholesale markets. Their price has risen by 11%.
Cheaper prices have been noted for most vegetables. The cheapest are the Bulgarian tomatoes, which are already sold at 16% lower prices per kilogram. Imports also fell - by 12.5%.
The price of green peppers has fallen by 7.6% since the end of last week. The price of cucumbers remains unchanged and a kilogram of them continues to be traded for BGN 0.82 wholesale.
The price of fresh potatoes fell by 12.5% and of cabbage - by 0.4%.
In the last week there has been a serious rise in the price of lettuce. In just 7 days, its wholesale price jumped by 22.6%. Fresh onions are also more expensive - by 4.3% and garlic - by 1%.
Most of the basic food products are at lower prices, but the reduction is almost insignificant. The prices of cheese fell - by 0.4%, as well as of lentils and flour - by 1.2%.
The ripe beans are also cheaper - by 2.3% and the oil - by 1%. Margarine and plain waffles fell by 0.4%. The prices of different types of sausages have dropped by 1.5%.
An increase of about half a percent was registered in rice, chicken, minced meat and yellow cheese.

In just one week, the price of lemons has jumped by almost 25 percent and in wholesale markets a kilo of citrus is offered for BGN 5.18. This price increase is a record for this year. Already last week, the citizens of Sofia in the Lozenets district felt the higher prices of lemons.
