A chocolate museum called Choko Story has opened in the French capital, Paris, on Boulevard Bon Nouvel.

The exhibition tells in detail the four thousand history of cocoa beans, through which people process them, creating different types of chocolate, ITAR-TASS reported.

"The history of chocolate is second only to the history of bread. That is why this product is of great importance to man," said the Van Velde couple, the museum's founders.

The museum has exhibits that tell how the ancient Aztecs processed the fruits and beans of cocoa.

In 1519, the Aztec emperor Montezuma organized a reception in which the first European to try an unusual cocoa beverage was Hernan Cortes.

The museum also tells how cocoa arrived in Europe and how the first chocolates were created around 1800. Until then, on the Old Continent, cocoa was known only as a powder and beverage.

The museum also employs confectioners who make chocolate in front of visitors.

The Van Velde family owns two other chocolate museums - in Bruges, Belgium and in the Czech capital, Prague.
