According to her, even fresh salad contains large amounts of nitrates, which do not last long and kill the beneficial properties of vegetables.
According to Lazarina Gerova, many of the fruits and vegetables in the domestic markets contain dangerously high amounts of nitrates.
"Even in summer - up to 400 grams can reach nitrates in salads, zucchini, fresh garlic and onions, carrots, fresh potatoes - all products that grow close to the ground or underground, are risky," - said the expert.
The opposite opinion is shared by the representative of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency - Nikolay Rosnev, who reports that the state control system manages to stop most of the harmful products before they reach the consumer.
Hristo Panayotov, who is the executive director of the vegetable market in Parvenets, said on the other hand that the spring fruits were wasted due to the rains.
