Price increase for chocolate and chocolate products predict analysts in Germany. According to their research, high purchase prices of cocoa will affect chocolate products.

Ritter Sport manager Andreas Ronken told the Stuttgarter Zeitung that all chocolate companies were worried about poor cocoa production this year.

Despite the cheaper milk and sugar on world markets, chocolate manufacturers rely more on cocoa and nuts for their products.

The year turned out to be extremely unfavorable for chocolate producers. Most of the raw materials were affected by climate change, and not only cocoa but also almonds and hazelnuts were several times smaller than usual.

Some producers decided to reduce the amount of nuts in their products, but to keep the price, while others preferred to keep the standard of the chocolate product, which was reflected in the final value of the product.

For the period July-August this year, cocoa has reached its highest purchase value in 4 years.

Experts suggest that for the Bulgarian markets the high prices of cocoa will be reflected in an increase of about 50 stotinki for one chocolate. With an average price of chocolate in our country of BGN 2, it is predicted that the delicacy will reach a maximum price of BGN 2.50 per piece.

Lind's chocolate company was steadily raising the price of its products. Their chocolates are already experiencing a jump in prices, especially in the Austrian markets.

Lind says that in the beginning of 2015 they decided to apply a selective increase in the prices of some products. This means that there is a change in values only for those goods that are directly affected by the turmoil in the raw materials market.

Many of their competitors are considering the same policy. However, there has been no talk of a drastic rise in prices.

Other large companies in the market, such as Nestle and Mondelize, have not yet commented on whether they will raise the prices of their chocolates or are ready to bear the weight of the more expensive raw materials.

But even if there is a rise in the price of chocolate, it will not be felt by consumers for months, as manufacturers and retailers enter into long-term contracts, which maintain a trend in prices for a long period of time.
