Pumpkin with a record weight of 792.5 kilograms became this year's champion for the richest harvest. The pumpkin was selected during a themed festival in the German city of Ludwigsburg.

In second place in the farming competition was a pumpkin weighing 644 kilograms.

Although this year's winner is really impressive in size, the largest pumpkin that this festival has measured is left behind.

The winner, who was not replaced this year either, weighed 900 kilograms.

The nearly 800-kilogram pumpkin was grown by farmer Peter Bonert, who has been racing for several years. The farmer says he has grown the largest pumpkin from seeds purchased online.

His purchase cost hundreds of euros, but last year he came close to victory, and this year he managed to win first place.

From May next year, the winner will provide a larger area for growing record-breaking pumpkins.

The Pumpkin Festival is an annual event in the German city and gathers thousands of tourists every year. The culmination is the search for the greatest pumpkin, which was raised during the year, but along with it are organized dozens of parties for those present.

Among them are rowing in boats that look like pumpkins and creating works of art from pumpkins.
