The McDonald's fast food chain was fined $ 3,600 for finding a mouse tail in its burger in June 2012.
The incident happened 2 years ago in Chile, and the victim Pedro Valdes immediately signaled the rodent's tail in his sandwich to the sanitary authorities.
The man demanded $ 180,000 in compensation.
After hearing the case, the court of appeal in the Latin American country decided to fine the giant in the sale of fast food with only 3600 dollars, and imposed an additional sanction of 10,800 dollars, which must be paid to the authorities in the country.
The investigation found that the mouse's tail did not fall into the burger when it was served, but was baked with it.
McDonald's has been accused of negligence over food control.
Following the incident, the establishment in question, where the incident took place, was closed. It was located in Temuco, about 700 kilometers south of the Chilean capital Santiago.
Earlier this month, journalist Morgan Spurlock showed in a shocking documentary that McDonald's delicious potatoes don't actually break down like normal food.
This again led to doubts about the ingredients from which the famous goods are prepared.
McDonald's potatoes were used in the experiments, as well as their best-selling sandwich - Big Mac. To show the difference, Spurlock bought other potatoes and a burger from a street vendor.
The journalist locked the food in jars for 3 weeks, after which he checked the result. It turned out that the food from McDonald's does not spoil and still looks edible, although almost a month has passed since it was purchased.
"I just want to give you an idea of how this food breaks down in your body," says the journalist.
In his experiment with potatoes, Spurlock even found that they could last for 10 weeks before spoiling.
