Nectarine or peach fruit is a type of peach with smooth skin like a plum. Nectarines have been grown in China for more than 2,000 years. In Europe, the first description of nectarines appeared in the XIV century. Today, on an industrial scale, nectarines are grown along the Mediterranean Sea - in Italy, Tunisia, Greece, Cyprus and the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
Nectarines are more resistant to diseases and pests than peaches, and winter varieties are suitable for growing even in colder areas.
So far there is no clarity on the matter, naturally or as a result of selection, this plant appeared. However, there are claims that peaches sometimes have fruits such as nectarines and vice versa.
Planting nectarines
The more southern you live, the more reasons you have to plant nectarines in the fall. In areas with cold winters, spring planting is preferable.
The optimal soil for nectarines is clay and sandy-clay soil, and the worst option is heavy clay soils. Such soils where the groundwater is too close to the surface, as well as those where melons, clover and strawberries have recently been grown, are not suitable for nectarine crops.
Then the risk of vertical infection is too great. The best place for nectarines is a south-facing place where the sun will not be blocked by buildings and other trees.
Nectarine should not be in the shade more than 1, 5-2 hours a day. Neighborhood with peach is also undesirable, as the likelihood of infection of nectarines with fungal diseases increases, even those that do not cause much harm to the peach.
Care for nectarines in the spring
In mid-April, swollen nectarine buds are treated with the pest Carbophos. When the buds from the top of the leaf have appeared, the trees are treated with a 3% Bordeaux mixture.
When buds appear on the tree, crown formation takes place. At the same time it is necessary to treat both fungi and pests with preparations containing honey, but they can not be applied during active growth. After flowering, nectarine treatment should be repeated.
Care for nectarines in the summer
Nectarines in summer need a lot of watering. The number of irrigation and water consumption directly depends on climatic conditions.
To combat the curly leaves of nectarines during the summer, treat with a solution of Delan or other preparations with similar action two or three times.
Care for nectarines in the fall
Since in winter the resistance of flower buds depends on the amount of water in the soil during their application, nectarines in August or September should be watered abundantly - as soon as you harvest the entire crop.
To prevent fungal diseases in early October, before the leaves begin to change color, spray with Bordeaux mixture.
After November, in late October or early November, the area around the tree is cleaned by removing dry leaves and other plant debris that hold pests in the winter. After watering, nectarine is treated against fungal diseases with copper sulfate.
Wintering of nectarines
After all the autumn activities (cleaning on site, refilling water for irrigation, fertilization and treatment) before the onset of the first frosts is good to make a winter blanket. This can be straw, tops, peat, sawdust or dry greenery. Do not apply mulch in wet weather, because under it the root collar may begin to rot. The stem and skeletal branches of nectarine for the winter it is desirable to treat with lime.

Why Should You Grow Green Herbs And Spices At Home?
Each of us has at least one pot of greens at home, right? Be it basil, parsley and other things. However, we do not always have fresh spices at home, so we use dry ones to flavor our salads and dishes. But, agree that the taste of a salad or dish seasoned with fresh spices is much richer, more fragrant and of course much more useful.
Let's Grow Basil At Home
Basil is one of the most commonly used and most easily recognizable by flavor ingredients in many dishes and drinks - pizza, spaghetti, Bloody Mary, Caprese salad, Thai soups. They all carry the basil feeling of freshness. Dried and packaged spices from the store are not only many times more expensive, but also many times less fragrant than home-grown ones.
Let's Grow Rosemary In A Pot
The Latin name of rosemary is Rosmarinus officinalis. In our country it is called Babin kosom. Rosemary is an evergreen perennial plant. It grows slowly and has narrow hard leaves that resemble conifers. Small, pale blue, delicate flowers bloom in its green tufts.
Let's Grow Baby Spinach
Spinach is one of the most useful vegetables due to its rich content of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins (C, B1, B2, B6, PP, K), as well as folic acid and minerals (iron, calcium, copper, sodium, potassium, phosphorus). It is prepared in different ways - for example, roasted spinach with rice, fried spinach with eggs or as a filling in a pie.
