Roast pork leg is one of the most delicious dishes you can prepare for the New Year's table. Prepared properly, it simply melts in your mouth.

You will need about two and a half pounds of pork leg, five cloves of garlic, one onion, three sprigs of fresh or dried rosemary, fifty milliliters of tomato paste, two tablespoons of sweet mustard, two tablespoons of vinegar, a pinch of salt, a pinch of cayenne pepper, a pinch of black pepper.

The leg is washed well, left to stand for twelve hours in cold water. The marinade for the meat is prepared by finely chopping the onion and garlic, as well as the rosemary leaves.

Tomato puree, salt, vinegar, black and red pepper are added to them. The sauce should be quite thick. It is spread on the thigh and left to stand for six hours in a large vessel.

If the meat does not fit in a saucepan with a lid, wrap it in plastic wrap and tie it well so that the marinade does not run out. After marinating, make incisions in the skin, pour the rest of the marinade and wrap in foil.

Bake in a preheated oven at two hundred degrees for an hour and a half. Then take the pan out of the oven and with the help of a cooking brush remove the remnants of garlic and onion from the marinade, because they can burn.

Spread a mixture of melted butter and a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar on the baked leg. You can also add two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.

Transfer the ham to a new foil and bake for another fifteen minutes. The ham is ideal in combination with stewed sauerkraut. You can add the stewed cabbage to the pan ten minutes before the ham is finally ready to absorb the sauce from roasting.

Instead of ham, you can roast a piece of meat - pork or beef. You need one kilogram of lean meat, one head of garlic, half a mayonnaise, one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of paprika.

Divide the garlic into cloves and peel each one. The meat is cut into large pieces, each representing one portion. Incisions are made in which garlic cloves are inserted.

The marinade is prepared from red pepper, salt, five crushed garlic cloves and mayonnaise. Spread all the pieces of meat with the marinade and leave in the fridge for an hour.

They are taken out and each piece is wrapped in foil. Wrap in foil pieces of meat are arranged in a pan. Bake in a preheated oven at two hundred degrees for forty minutes.

Dissolve the foil packets to form an appetizing crust and bake the pieces of meat for another twenty minutes.
