Nergi Berry (Nergi Berry) is a fruit of the species Actinidia arguta, also known as baby kiwi. Some also called it mini kiwi. The fruits are small, green and delicious. They look like grapes on the outside. On the inside, they look more like kiwis. And the taste is something like a mixture of the two.

History of Nergy Berry

This fruit has been known for thousands of years. Nergi berry (Actinidia arguta) has been a wild plant for a long time, as the tree bears very soft fruits that cannot be preserved and stored for long.

In the 1990s, New Zealand botanists decided to propagate the plants through hybrid crosses to improve their overall quality and resilience.

From this process new varieties are born. They were as rich in taste and nutritional value as the original fruit, but had better resilience to climate change. Nergy berry is now part of this new generation of varieties.

They are obtained by natural pollination and are not genetically modified. The plant has male and female plant forms. The fruits are picked by hand, one by one, somewhere between August 20 and September 10, depending on the year and area of production.

One plant bears an average of between 10 and 50 kg of fruit.

Manufactured by Nergi Berry

Green fruits, also known as baby kiwis, are currently grown mainly on small farms in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Ukraine, but originate and are produced mainly in Asia. They gather in August and September, so autumn is the best time to buy them.

They are like strawberries because you have to buy them when they are soft to the touch. And as with most fruits, you can eat their peel.

Nergy Berry in cooking

You can wash them and eat them as a snack, or as you like. But they can be stored for up to three days after purchase at room temperature and one week if you keep them in the refrigerator. You can also add them to shakes, fruit salads, pastries and almost any dish to which you usually add fruit.

Benefits of Nergy Berry

These juicy balls are low in calories - 52 calories in about 10 pieces of fruit (each fruit is the size of a small plum). They are a good source of fiber, vitamin C and vitamin E. They contain fruit sugar, which is due to their known energizing properties.
