Most of us believe that fruits and vegetables spoil more slowly and stay fresh longer when kept in an air bag. But contrary to popular belief, products also need breathing space.

So storing them in airtight plastic bags without leaving room for them to breathe is not the best idea. A better option is to store them in mesh bags or open paper bags.

Nylon is also a combination of chemicals. Extremely dangerous for the body are bisphenol A and phthalate. Unfortunately, they are common in plastic bags.

When fruits and vegetables are stored for more than 24 hours in a bag, dangerous chemicals enter them and then our body. Studies show that these chemicals are associated with tissue changes, genetic damage, early puberty and hormonal changes.

Last but not least, plastic bags are a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. This is especially true when there is food in them without access to air.

The bags become an ideal incubator for dangerous microorganisms that can easily cause serious diseases. And if they break, there is a danger that the already established bacteria will spread to other foods in the refrigerator.
