Bobby Flay is the critic's favorite master chef, restaurateur, award-winning cookbook author and TV presenter. Born in New York in 1964, Bobby Flay opened his first restaurant, Mesa Grill, in 1991, earning immediate recognition.
His first professional job in the restaurant business came in 1982, shortly after he left school. His father, Bill, manager of Joe Allen's famous restaurant in New York, hired his son as an assistant waiter due to a lack of staff.
Bobby Flay himself later said in an interview that he was not even asked if he wanted to do this, but was hired. A few months after joining Joe Allen, Bobby was promoted to kitchen assistant.
His boss sees the potential that lies in the young boy and pays for his full training at the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan. There he received applause from the teachers and received an award for his graduation from the Institute.
Clearly hesitant and uncertain about his culinary career, Bobby Flay worked as a Wall Street broker, but only for a short time. Realizing his true calling, he switched and began working in a variety of restaurants in New York.
During this period, Flay was fascinated by the aromas and spices of the American Southwest - an area he had never visited. He quickly studied them as a taste and soon they became the characteristic signature by which people recognize his food.
In 1993, the famous chef won the prestigious award for talented chefs under the age of 30. That same year, he opened his second restaurant, Bolo, a bar and restaurant in a New York neighborhood.
Almost a decade later, the second Mesa Grill in Las Vegas, the Americain bistro bar, the third Mesa Grill restaurant in the Bahamas and several other prestigious restaurants opened.
Bobby Flay's empire, established with its unique steaks and hamburgers with real grilled meat, continues to grow.
So far, the famous chef has published 9 books that adorn the shelves of all American bookstores. In addition, it has its own collection of cooking utensils, as well as a brand of spices and sauces.
