Traders are raising the prices of organic food twice. The reason for their inflation is that the money from Europe has not yet been transferred. But not only.
The EU has not yet transferred money to organic producers and they are speculating on the prices of organic products. However, the Bulgarian Bioproducts Association (BAB) is not so convinced of this. According to the manufacturers, the biggest speculations are the traders, who put a huge mark-up.
The president of the association - Albena Simeonova, explained that there is no way for the organic product to be two or three times more expensive than the conventional one. This is a kind of speculation on the part of other competitors who sell organic products and goods from the farm.
The truth is that on the market today, the only product without pesticides and chemicals that you can buy is a certified organic product.
Organic producers in our country have one problem under measure 4.2 and that is that they cannot process their own product on the farm. They are obliged to export for processing in Europe, which is the reason for the additional cost of the product.
For example, goat's milk is more expensive by 20 and 30 cents per liter compared to the other, and cheese - by 1-1.20 levs in the final price. Any markup on top is speculation.
