The winter season is associated with many festive evenings in the pleasant company of our loved ones. Along with crowded festive tables with all sorts of delicacies, it is good to serve adequate drinks for the season.

In addition to delicious meals, cold winter days also suggest delicious drinks that are warm enough to keep us warm, and whose aroma makes the holidays and ordinary winter evenings even more cozy and pleasant.

The first drink we offer you is prepared with the help of dark rum. Mix about 400 ml of apple juice, 200 ml of cherry compote juice, 100 ml of dark rum in a saucepan of appropriate size. Turn on the stove over low heat and add to the liquids 3 cloves, 3 cinnamon sticks and grated orange peel.

If desired, you can add 2 tbsp. grated lemon peel. When the drink heats up well, let it simmer on the stove for a few minutes so that your whole home can start smelling the great aroma of cinnamon and cloves. Then strain the drink and pour into suitable glasses.

In case you are not a fan of alcohol, you can make hot chocolate. For it you will need 120 grams of dark chocolate, 1 tsp. animal cream, ½ tsp. brown sugar, vanilla pod, orange peel and optionally 2-3 pinches of ground allspice.

In a suitable bowl put the cream and the same amount of water, allspice, vanilla, sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and after two or three minutes remove from the heat and add the broken chocolate and the grated orange peel to the hot mixture.

We can not fail to mention the simpler to make, but just as delicious and warming herbal teas, as well as the favorite warm milk with honey. And since herbal teas and milk may not be best for holiday dinners, we suggest you add a little variety to them.

Add to your favorite milk 20 ml of cognac (200 ml of milk), sweeten with honey to taste, and add a pinch of cinnamon.

The last suggestion is to make a drink with 200 g of sugar, 2 lemons, 4 oranges, 2 tsp. strong tea and 2 tsp. rum. Dissolve the sugar in 4 tsp. boiling water, then add the tea as well as the squeezed fruit juices.

Add grated peel of 2 oranges and lemons. Serve the drink warm, pouring rum into it just before serving. Pour into suitable glasses and drink while warm.
